Education System in Australia

There are 4 levels of Education in Australia -

 
 

Primary School

Consists of 7-8 years of instruction, beginning in Kindergarten and ending Year 6 or 7

Secondary School

3-4 year programme runs from Years 7 to 10 or Years 8 to 10.

Senior-Secondary Education

Years 11 and 12 are the two years of Senior High Education.

Tertiary Education

Tertiary education includes university education as well as vocational education.

Admission Intakes in the Australia

Students can get admission in Australia in two semesters, although some universities offer admissions to students in the trimester system

 

1st Semester Intake

The deadline to apply in an Australian university for 1st semester falls in December.

 

2nd Semester Intake

The deadline to apply for the 2nd Semester falls in May.

 

Trimester Semester Intake

These intakes are held in February, July and November.

 

Grading System in Australia

Each subject at Australian universities normally has a value of 6 to 8 credits; however, there may be rare exceptions with credit points below or above this average. In a typical semester, you would study four topics. Each institution has the authority to determine how many subjects students are permitted to select for each semester.
